If you have them there in the UK, a plumbers union is a good place to start. They will train you and help you find work in the trade as an apprentice.

Can you get a job working for a plumber for a while? Offer your services for cheap. Then you can get on the job training while still making a couple bucks and go to trade school part time. If I were hiring for a plumber, and 2 people applied, one worked as a plumber and the other went to school to be a plumber, I’d hire the guy who worked as a plumber.
a plumbers union could help you out, or you could call and ask where to get fast training to become a plumber….
