Plan Your Bathroom: Hundreds Of Design Combinations At-a-glance
The bathroom is quite possibly the most overlooked room in the home. Nevertheless, this smaller space is being increasingly upgraded and needs to be functional and attractive, with the right amount of storage. Whether it is being used for a quick shower or long soak in the tub, there are many aesthetic and practical considerations to bear in mind. This is where Plan Your Bathroom comes in. Great book for visualizing your new bathroom,
I love this book! It’s great for all kinds of bath ideas including color combinations. The book is nicely arranged with tabs for easy access. What is especially nice about this book is the back section with “mix and match combinations.” You’ll be able to see what is best for you, whether it’s a very small master bath like we are remodeling or the grand luxury bath of many people’s dreams. A very handy resource for most remodelers..

|A Confusing Book,
Unlike the last reviewer, I really didn’t enjoy this book – one of three I purchased on bathroom remodeling.
I thought that the color suggestions were restrictive, and didn’t particularly like the planning choices. The book didn’t inspire me at all.

|Good for visual planning – not overly technical,
I checked this book out from the library as well as a few others Complete Baths (Stanley Complete), Small Bath Solutions (Better Homes & Gardens Decorating), and Black & Decker The Complete Guide to Bathrooms, Third Edition: *Remodeling on a budget * Vanities & Cabinets * Plumbing & Fixtures * Showers, Sinks & Tubs (Black & Decker Complete Guide). We are remodeling our master bathroom ourselves.
This one had 3 things that I really liked 1-the color scheme samples, 2-the layout grid with scale sized fixtures, and 3-the forms/spreadsheets for writing down where to get what and compare your options (ex: item (eg. bathtub), supplier, color, cost).
Color schemes – I was able to get a feel for what colors I liked and didn’t like and my husbands taste too. Obviously, we weren’t going to go with the exact scheme but it was a good place to start. Layout grid – there were tons of these online but our bathroom is not square or rectangular, so it was nice to grid it out easily. As for the forms, I could have come up with my own, but it was nice to have one to borrow from.
As for the actual bathrooms they showed, they were pretty fancy and very modern. So if your budget is limited or your tastes or more eclectic, keep that in mind. Also, there isn’t any technical stuff in there dealing with wiring, plumbing, tiling, or the construction part of a remodel. So if you are looking for a book that would get you completely start to finish, this isn’t really it.
