i just started on remodel my bathroom, there was peel and stick tile , like goes on the floor on most of the walls, also lots of glue, and caulking. when i took off the tile it took the top coat of drywall paper too, also there is backing paper from some wall paper from another re do,what do i need to do , i just want to paint the walls ? HELP!

You’re going to have to take the leftover wallpaper and the glue off of the walls. Once that is done, you will need to apply plaster to the peeling drywall, wait 24 hours, sand it, prime it and then you will be able to paint.

if removing the peel and stick tiles took off the top layer of drywall and the gypsum (the chalky white substance under the paper coating) is showing, then the best thing to do would be to cut out the drywall and replace it with new. you’ll play hell plastering or re-mudding the drywall. a licensed drywall contractor isn’t very expensive. i recommend calling them and having them replace your drywall. please don’t put peel and stick tiles back on the wall. i find it odd that they were on the wall in the first place. good luck.
